Of course we all know you should never judge a book by its cover, but do we ever really listen to that? Cover Lover showcases eye catching, intriguing, and beautiful covers.

How cool is that tornado in the jar? It goes really well with the blue of the girl's dress in the background, and I'm loving the bright green grass too.

LOOK AT THE PRETTY! It's just so colorful and pretty and...Gah! I mean, we have everything from pretty little purple swirlies (love me some purple) to a girl dressed in polka dots, stripes, and a furry vest (it's totally working, though, right?). This illustration is so fantastic that the prominent spider doesn't even bother me. Also, am I the only one wondering what's up with the brooms?

I'm not sure if many of you know, but let's just put it out there: I hate the color yellow. I know it's basically the color of sunshine and happiness and buttercups and blah blah blah, but I just can't do it. No yellow for The Jazz. (Can I do that? Can I give myself a nickname? Well, half of it's already my IRL nickname anyway...Okay. Moving on...) What I mean to say is, I shouldn't love this cover. I should hate it.
But I don't.
I'm actually really digging the yellow/white contrast thing. And then there's the tagline which leads into the stark-looking title which I'm quite liking. Plus, the jumpsuits give it that total "laboratory" feel which I do so love to read about.
And THEN, there's the whole backs-to-us-entwined-hands things. That's quite the statement there.
Okay, I'm blathering. Just enjoy the pretty cover.
Today I have the pleasure of hosting Sean Beaudoin as part of the blog tour for the release of The Infects.

A feast for the brain, this gory and genuinely hilarious take on zombie culture simultaneously skewers, pays tribute to, and elevates the horror genre. Seventeen-year-old Nero is stuck in the wilderness with a bunch of other juvenile delinquents on an “Inward Trek.” As if that weren’t bad enough, his counselors have turned into flesh-eating maniacs overnight and are now chowing down on his fellow miscreants. As in any classic monster flick worth its salted popcorn, plentiful carnage sends survivors rabbiting into the woods while the mindless horde of “infects” shambles, moans, and drools behind. Of course, these kids have seen zombie movies. They generate “Zombie Rules” almost as quickly as cheeky remarks, but attitude alone can’t keep the biters back. Serving up a cast of irreverent, slightly twisted characters, an unexpected villain, and an ending you won’t see coming, here is a savvy tale that that’s a delight to read—whether you’re a rabid zombie fan or freshly bitten—and an incisive commentary on the evil that lurks within each of us.

Fight the urge to run. Be smart. Walk quickly. Swing the tire iron only when you really have to. (I'm not going to lie: I'm totally a runner.)
That's right, today's my birthday! And I'm no longer a teenager. It's not like I really felt like a teenager before, but it's still a little odd to be officially out of that stage of my life. Sure, I've been married and living on my own for the past (almost) year, but now I'm actually the big Two-Oh.
I'd love to do a super cool post where I list 20 awesome and notable things in my life, but since my only access to a computer these days happens to be at the library, that simply won't be happening. BUT, I do still have a giveaway for you guys. I compiled a list of 20 (see what I did there) of my favorite books. It's not really in any particular order and is, in fact, pretty darn random.
1 winner will get to choose a book from the list and if it's part of a series, then they can pick any book in the series.
Open internationally.
The list is as follows, but there's some handy-dandy pictures at the bottom too.
1.Gone by Micahel Grant 2.Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson 3.What's Left of Me by Kat Zhang 4.Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series' by Rick Riorda 5.Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan 6.Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Leviathan 7.Divergent by Veronica Roth 8.The Maze Runner by James Dashner 9.Delirium by Lauren Oliver 10.Anna and the French Kiss/Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins 11. So, some of you may have read on Twitter that my computer charger decided to up and catch on fire. Lovely, right?
Not only does that mean I can't get on the computer, it also means my only access to internet is either through my Nook Tablet (which doesn't let me post and I am currently sharing with Husband) or the library. Needless to say, you probably won't be seeing any posts from me for a while. I'll still be on Twitter, but I won't have any way of updating the blog for a while.
