My Current Obsession started out as a way for me to share whatever tv show I was obsessing about at the moment but then I thought "tv isn't the only thing I get obsessed" and thus we have my current gaming obsession!

Before this month I hadn't played any video games since somewhere around the beginning of the year. It's actually kind of crazy for me to go that long without playing games, but nothing had really been catching my interest.

Anyway, I recently read the entire CTRL + ALT + DEL comic series and it made me really want to play something. So I made my way over to Gamestop to pick out a game. I found Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon for $8.99 and figured it looked cure and it was cheap so why not?

And let me tell you, I got a lot more than I expected out of $8.99!

First of all, the graphics are pretty amazing and there's a lot of cut scenes to show them off.

Second, the story's pretty interesting, so I haven't gotten bored.
Third, it's turn-based, but only while you're in the dungeons. So, if you just want to walk around the town and explore you can do so without fighting any bad guys. There's a lot of side quests where you can help out the townspeople to up your level and such too.

In case you're wondering about the storyline, it goes like this: everyone in the town has lost some or all of their memories and Chocobo is the only one with the ability to get them back.

Basically, if you like cute, turn-based games then you definitely have to check out Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon!

My Current Obsession (18 To Life)

To be honest, guys, I simply didn't feel like making an IMM post so, I didn't :P Next week I'll have plenty to show you, though, so you can...look forward to..that? Maybe? Whatever, onward we go!

How about we talk about my current obsession, hmmm? Again, there's no book relation here, so if that's not your interest then you're free to go, and thank you for the visit :]

Lately I've been obsessed with this show I found on Netflix called 18 to Life. It's a Canadian show about two highschool sweethearts/neighbors who get married at 18 and it is stinking hilarious. BUT, it also has heart. Cute, adorable, young newlywed heart :]

Single people might not appreciate it quite as much, but I still think they could find it enjoyable. I don't mean to single out a whole set of people here, but as a newlywed myself, nearly every episode has had me going "Yes! THIS! We have that argument ALL the time!" or "Ohhh, I totally remember that argument. It was not pretty :P"  I mean, the episode I just finished watching was about how she likes planning and control and he liked being spontaneous. That's pretty much Husband's and my relationship in a nutshell :P

One of the main things I really love is that they don't really dress married life up. Yeah, it's fun most of the time, but the couple also has plenty of fights and normal married people problems. Like, the "Hanging Pictures" episode. I won't write about it as I like to keep things as PGish as possible around here, but that both had me cringing, laughing, and almost shouting at the tv in agreement.

I know my post probably isn't all too persuasive, but trust me, if you have Netflix just give it a chance. The series is already over so there's only 25 half-hour episodes. Try one or two and maybe come back here or tell me on Twitter how it's working out for you. :]

My Current Obsession: Roswell

This has absolutely nothing to do with books, so if you aren't interested, you've now been warned.

I'm obsessed with television. There, I said it. I'm not even ashamed either. If I'm not reading or blogging, I'm likely watching tv. Sometimes I even do all three at once! Usually, though, all three are constantly warring for my attention. I just can't help it :P

Anyhow, since I have such an intense love for all things tv I figured, hey, why not share it here? For now, this will be a sporadic feature spotlighting whatever my newest obsession of the week is.

This week's obsession:
Roswell
IMDB description: Living among the citizens of the infamous New Mexico city of Roswell are some who are not there by choice. They are there to follow a destiny given to them by the members of their dying race, a race that they are someday destined to save.

I put this show in my Netflix queue ages ago, but only started watching it at the beginning of this year when I didn't have cable anymore and needed something to watch while Husband was at work. Boy, am I glad I finally got around to watching this show. It is absolutely fantastic.

You'd probably think a show about aliens would be incredibly cheesy and possibly gory, right? Well, you'd be totally and completely wrong with that mindset. Roswell is like an amazing teenage show with all the angst and kissing and relationships mixed in with a little bit of the "unexplained" though, luckily, most of it is explained in the end.

The plot is insane and throughout all three seasons I continued to be interested. Usually when you watch a series the second or third or whatever season just isn't that good, but I can honestly say that this entire series is fantastic. And when I finished watching the last episode I started crying because I was devastated it was over.

One thing I really loved was that the characters weren't hopping around from one love interest to another. I don't want to give to much away, but it was refreshing to see teens actually be interested in one person instead of just jumping at whoever came along next.

If you have Netflix, you should definitely give this show a chance. Just watch a couple episodes and try to tell me you're not hooked.

My Current Obsession {Fullmetal Alchemist}

Fullmetal Alchemist

Wikipedia description: Set in a fictional universe in which alchemy is one of the most advanced scientific techniques known to man, the story follows the brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who want to restore their bodies after a disastrous failed attempt to bring their mother back to life through alchemy.

So the other weekend my younger bro (he's 14) came to stay with Husband and I. He settled in, turned on Netflix and 5 minutes later he was watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Since it basically started out with a fight scene I just figured it was a boy show and I wouldn't really be interested. Plus, I didn't think I liked anime.

Then, I started slowly being sucked into the story and the world. We ended up staying up until 2am watching it. The next morning we figured out we were actually watching the sort-of spin-off so we started with the original Fullmetal Alchemist and ended up staying awake until 4am watching it. Needless to say, I was addicted.

The world-building in this show is just as fantastic as any of the best dystopian books you've ever read. Seriously. I love the alternate world in which alchemy is a thing. Plus, I really like that it was a science instead of being portrayed as some crazy magic or something.

The characters are also fantastic. Each one is so unique from Winry to Al to Ed. Seriously, I could sit here and list of pretty much every character in the entire show and have something great to say about each one. Even the bad guys! I won't do that to you guys, though :P I will say that I have a massive crush on Edward much to Husband's disapproval. Yes, I realize it's incredibly odd to be so attached to a 15-year-old anime character :P

Don't be turned off because it's a "cartoon". This story has depth, guys. I could be cracking up one minute and the next I'd be bawling my eyes out.

I finished the series, but I still have Brotherhood to watch and I believe there's a movie or two, so I'm not done yet! There are about a million more things I could say, but I don't want to make you read a novel on my random thoughts.

Can someone else pleeease watch this so I can gush over it with you? Pretty please?
