TGIF {14}

TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger at GReads. Each week she poses a question and everyone is invited to join in and share their answers :]

This week's question:
Friday, Jan. 27th - Buy or Borrow: Where do your books that you read come from? The bookstore? The library? Do you prefer to own a book, or have it on loan?

You could probably tell from my IMMs that most of my books come from the library. I rather enjoy putting things on hold and having them come in. It's kind of like getting mail. I also just like going through the shelves and grabbing every single book that looks interesting. It makes the library people give me funny looks :P

I use the library because 1) I love the library and 2) I'm kind of broke. I'd really love to buy more books since supporting authors is the bomb and they make my shelf look all pretty, but, you know, it's hard to buy books when you're broke.

What about you guys? Borrow or own?

  1. I really need to start borrowing books more often from my library. We've got such a great collection and I take that for granted, sadly :(

  2. Borrow for sure. I love free books! I also love that my library partners with a few other fairly local branches, so we can have books transferred if our main one doesn't have them in. Love it!

  3. YAY! I'm so glad that you use the library too! So many TGIF posts said that they didn't use the library and that made me sad. :( The library is free and awesome. I'm a huge advocate in supporting libraries and local indies! :)

  4. I get almost all of my books from the library. Don't worry about the funny looks from the check-out people --- they're probably just impressed by how many books you're checking out! :)

    I love what Meredith said - the library is free and awesome. YES!!
