Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Every week there's a category and everyone participating lists their "Top Ten" in that category.
This week's topic is: Top Ten Books To Read In A Day
1. Hana by Lauren Oliver
This novella is a must read for fans of Delirium. I read it in just a couple hours (yes, I'm a reaaally slow reader) and I loved it. Most people could probably finish it in 30 minutes to an hour.
2. Bird by Rita Murphy {My Review}
This book is whimsical and super short, yet completely full.
3. Still Waters by Emma Carlson Berne (Review to come)
This one is short and will have you pinned to the edge of your seat. The suspense will keep you reading and is the main drive behind the quick read.
4. Scored by Lauren McLaughlin (Review to come)
It's not often you come across a one-day dystopian read but this one is totally it. It's such a quick and easy yet thought-provoking read.
5. Liesl & Po by Lauren Oliver {My Review}
Since I'm a really slow reader I didn't actually finish this one in a day, but it still didn't take too long. It's cute and yet pretty deep and hello, it has illustrations!
6. Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
It's been years since I read this, but I still remember adoring it. Looking at my shelf and seeing how small it is compared to all my other books makes me feel like I could read it in a matter of hours!
7. Any of the books in the Private series by Kate Brian
Every single one of this a fairly short and completely full of suspense. They're my guilty pleasure, but they're truly good.
8. Love Story by Jennifer Echols {My Review}
I imagine this would go for most other Echols books too, but Love Story is the only one I've read so far. It was short and yet had a full story which completely sucked me in.
9. Bad Taste in Boys by Carrie Harris (Review to come)
I love that for how short this is it really packs a punch with it's fully fleshed out storyness. Plus, it had me laughing out loud quite a few times. Oh yeah, and zombies.
10. Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
I read this afrer watching the movie and ended up being a little disturbed (I was a sheltered child) but did enjoy it. What's better than reading a book set in a 24-hour time frame in a day?
I have actually not read a single one of those, nor do I think any are on my TBR. That's pretty crazy. Very nice post! I think I'm going to have to look into a few of those!

Darn. I should have added Nick and Norah's Infinite Play List to my list. That's a good one.
ReplyDeleteWas just telling someone how much I adore Nick and Norah the movie. Haven't read the book but the last time I read a Levithan/Coen book it was during a 24-hour readathon. ;) Fun list!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books on your list, but I love the cover for Bad Taste in Boys!
ReplyDeleteI love that cover for Bird. Never heard of it before.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Bird, but I really love the cover! So cool! And I haven't read anything by Jennifer Echols, but I need to because everyone seems to love her books.
ReplyDeleteOooh, excited to see Scored on this list! You're right, it's not often that type of book can be read in a day. I've wanted to read it for a while, now I know it'll be quick and engrossing!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I keep forgetting to read Hana, I love that it was a short read so hopefully I'll be able to get to it soon! I really want to read the Private series and Bad Taste in Boys, I definitely look forward to your review! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Delirium so I really need to read Hana! And if you liked Love Story then you definitely definitely need to read Going Too Far and Forget You!
ReplyDeleteOh cool! The cover of Bird is really awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love that all of yours were pretty short novels, but you pointed out they're your favorites because the stories are complete within the small number of pages. I will have to check the ones I haven't read.
